This 5 day 'Hinze Kayak + Hike' is the perfect itinerary for those looking for something a little different.   of a multi sport adventure signature experience not to be missed. You will become fully immersed in the ancient culture that exists less than 1 hour from the world class beaches and International airport on Queensland's Gold Coast. The Walkin' Time Team not only guide you along this historic trail, sharing tails of local history, flora and fauna, the team will also support your own personal journey.

Itinerary Overview 

Day 1 - Arrive
Arrive on the Gold Coast, check in to your accommodation and enjoy the trip briefing over an evening drink where you'll meet your group leader and fellow trekkers. 
Meals: At own expensive
Accommodation: At own expense

Day 2 - Kayak to Private Camp

Depart your hotel and jump on board our bus and head for the start of your Walkin' Time adventure.  Upon arrival at the dam, less than a 45min drive, your will familiarise yourself with the very safe 2 man kayaks. Once through a thorough briefing on safety and what's expected on the water, it's time to set off for a fun 16km paddle. This has got to be one of the most peaceful paddles you'll even take as you leisurely make your way along the weaving dam wall whilst marveling at the size and beauty of the area. As you arrive at your destination, your belongings will be waiting for you along with a cool drink as you reminisce about the days activity.

Day 3 - Hike to Binna Burra
Head off on the 20km trek to Binna Burra via the Kurragin Valley where the track takes you past the stands of Piccabeen Palm Archantaphoenix cunninghamii, large Red Cedar Toona Ciliata, and majestic Flooded Gum Eucalyptus Grandis.

Day 4 - Binna Burra to O'Reilly's
Depart Binna Burra and trek 25km to O’Reilly’s. The track traverses some of the highest remaining basalt lavas from the Tweed Volcanoes. With increasing elevation, the trail passes through warm and cool subtropical rainforests into warm and cool temperate rain forests. These varied rainforest communities contain many ancient families of flowering plants: the Bolwarra family Eupomatiacea: Pepperbrush Winteraceae; Laurels Lauraceae; Lillipillys Myrtaceae; and the Southern Beech Fagaceae.

Day 5 - Depart
Depart Green Mountain (O'Reilly's) on the bus back to the Gold Coast
Meals: Breakfast only

What equipment is included?

Walkin' Time provide everything you need for a good nature night's sleep. That includes, the tents for camping and glamping. A sleeping bag, sleeping mat, torch and back pack.

What meals are included in the itineraries?

We've been hiking throughout Australia and Papua New Guinea for 30 years and have never gone hungry! Neither will you. We have partnered with Extreme Cuisine to provide you with tasty and nutritious meals throughout your time with us.

Meals included are: Lunch and dinner on the day we leave the Gold Coast hotel and head up the mountain. We recommend you enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel that morning. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided all other days, except on the day you depart the mountain. We will provide breakfast on the final morning before departure.

What if I have dietary requirements?

We aim to cater for most dietary requirements however it is best to contact us to discuss your needs well in advance so we can work together to provide a suitable solution so you are well fueled for the adventure.

What transport is included?

We ask that you make your own way to the hotel accommodation where you will meet your guide and chat through the adventure briefing. We provide the bus transfer to take us up the mountain or to the dam for the kayaking adventures. We then provide the same bus transfer down the mountain and return you to the same hotel accommodation where your initial briefing took place.

What happens with my personal luggage?

Your luggage will be securely transferred to your accommodation site each day so there is no need to carry anything other than personal items and water in your day pack each day.
